Stuart Day - Head of Quality at Capital One & Host of Quality Talks Podcast
Stuart is a seasoned senior technology and quality leader with over 26 years of experience across various sectors, including retail, travel, financial services, and publishing.
As an accredited ICF Team Coach, certified Agile coach, and Agile leader, he specialises in driving Agile and digital transformations with a real emphasis on continuous quality being in the DNA of what we do.
He fosters inclusive, trust-based environments that empower teams to thrive and his leadership approach emphasises relationship-building and psychological safety, to enable team members to experiment, learn, and grow.
He is dedicated to mentoring and coaching others and actively contributes to the wider Quality, Software Testing and Tech community through his podcast, speaking engagements, and workshops
About the session: What is Quality?
Going back several years, it was hard as a Quality professional to have a seat at the table, let alone an actual voice that would be heard.
These days, however, there are more forums and opportunities for us to be heard, and we have become really great at telling people that "Quality is everyone's responsibility" or "Everyone owns quality". But what does that really mean?
What if, in our organisations, we struggle to really define what quality means? How can we ask or expect anybody to truly own something that is unknown or vague? The simple answer is we can't. So to enable ownership, we need to help people discover and understand the answer to the question "What is Quality?"
In this interactive workshop, we will be exploring what quality is and what it means to us. Delving into its many facets and trying out some techniques to help our teams and organisations define it for everyone.
As it's December...who knows...we may even have some Christmas themes!!

After the talk, there is the opportunity for all attendees to take part in 99 Second Talks, where they can use the time to trial a presentation they plan to give, ask for help from the community, share something they are passionate about, virtually anything they can think of.
